EMPLOYABILITY PROGRAM FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

International students enrich Australia’s campuses and contribute significantly to the economy, but many face real challenges in finding meaningful work—both during study and after graduation.

Challenges Facing International Students

  • Many international students find it very difficult to secure suitable jobs, with a large portion reporting challenges in finding work that matches their skills and qualifications.

  • Over 50% of international graduates work below their skill level, often in low paid roles unrelated to their field of study.

  • Limited access to local professional experience and network opportunities hinders job readiness.

  • Language confidence, visa complexity and employer preference for local graduates can reduce skilled employment opportunities.

These challenges can lead to frustration, financial stress, and uncertainty—not just about careers, but about long‑term migration prospects for those hoping to stay and build a life in Australia.
